Philly Sports is Killing my Mental Health

The choke hold Philly Sports has on me this week is insane, having to watch the Phillies be the most inconsistent team in baseball while the Flyers have the most insane fall in hockey and the Sixers do the complete opposite with an unbelievable turn around.

Phillies:
Ranger Suarez going from a middle reliever to a legit starting pitcher who went 9 innings in a shut out today is up there with Jordan Mailata with success stories in Philly Sports. Bryce Harper finally found his bat, the Phillies hosted BOGO dog night their new alternative to Dollar Dog Night. May Dollar Dog Night rest in piece but the Phillies on BOGO night might be the best baseball team of all time. Harper especially is powered by the BOGO dogs. Even though it's the Rockies and I don't want to hear anything about it this team is officially BACK. I will say they are back basically every win until October but for the time being they are BACK.

Flyers:
For all the excitement that the Phillies gave me it got crushed 20 minutes later by the Fly Guys. The Flyers needed a lot to happen to make the playoffs, even after the massive collapse by the Flyers going from 3rd in the Metro to completely out of the playoffs in under a month. They needed to most importantly beat the Capitals and have the Canadiens beat the Red Wings. The Canadiens choked last night by giving up a goal in the last seconds to send the game to overtime which hurt the Flyers playoff chances. The Flyers and Capitals were tied all game until the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast cut to the Canadiens once again choking with three seconds left in the game to send their game to overtime once again which ended the Flyers playoff chances since they needed a regulation loss by the Red Wings. They went on to lose the game anyway. After the fall the Flyers went on showed why they didn't deserve to be in the playoffs but the fact they got that close just hurt even worse. The Flyers are young and this is just the beginning next year playoff hockey will be back in South Philadelphia.

Sixers:
If the Sixers lose to the Heat in the 7th seed play-in game my mental health will be destroyed. From the Phillies blowing a 2-0 lead to the Eagles and Flyers regular season collapse the Sixers are my last hope. The Sixers need this 7th seed, if they lose they will either face elimination or a first round matchup vs the Celtics which is basically the same thing. Embiid isn't at 100% yet but Embiid at 75% is still better than 90% of the NBA. Winning the 7th seed play-in game we put the Sixers against the Knicks in the first round and also means the Sixers wouldn't have to face Boston until the Eastern Conference Finals which is huge for this team because getting past the 2nd Round would be monumental for this year. Just making the playoffs is huge for this Sixers team that lost their superstar for over half the season. I've never had a better feeling about the Sixers making the ECF since the Jimmy Butler Sixers team which we all know how that happened. This play-in game is the biggest game in recent Sixers history because we need to be on the opposite side of the bracket than Boston.
The Phillies and Sixers now have to carry their weight right now and Howie Roseman needs to cook in the draft once again. The city of Philadelphia is on the rise in sports but I can't keep taking these close finishes since I'm going to have 100 heart attacks before I turn 21.
