It's the most wonderful time of the year, through your non-stop march madness viewing you have watch one player go off and become a household name. Every year a new player comes out of nowhere and becomes a March Legend. Most of the time it's a white guy who makes a lot of threes and I hate to spoil things but nothing has changed.
After round 1 lets get a quick recap and rank who is most likely to be this years March Legend.
1.Jack Gohlke (Oakland):

Jack Gohlke is now a household name after being the newest white boy to take down Kentucky. Gohlke is the heavy favorite right now to be a March legend since he literally only shoots threes. You might think I'm over-exaggerating but he literally didn't shoot from mid-range. Gohlke hit 10 out of his 20 3-point shots and took down Kentucky. After the game Gohlke had two great quotes with "We're not a Cinderella" and “I know they have draft picks, and I know I’m not going to the NBA…. but on any given I can compete with those type of guys."
Gohlke might work his way on to the Miami Heat if he keeps shooting like this but this possible future accountant might be a better shooter than Steph.
Gohlke can lock his March Legend status if he beats NC State but it's going to be a challenge with another March Legend in the making that we will get into soon on NC State
2. Ryan Langborg (Northwestern):

Every white hoopers dream is to be a March Legend and our top two guys in the rankings right now are living that dream. Ryan Langborg was on his way to be a March Legend last year with Princeton but after falling to Creighton, Princeton was quickly forgotten about. Langborg was in a battle with FAU but when the game was on the line Langborg was in his prime. Langborg was electric whenever he touched the ball. If Langborg and Gohlke teamed up they would give the Splash Bros a run for their money. The problem for Langborg now is that he has to face the best team in the nation UConn. It's all or nothing for Langborg, if he beats UConn he will easily be a household name and give Gohlke some competition. It's all or nothing because if Northwestern falls to UConn Langborg will be forgotten by the national media. Langborg is at number two right now because of the BOOM or BUST potential but will he show up vs another cream baller in Cam Spencer.
3. DJ Burns (NC State):

DJ Burns aka Big Mac Biyombo aka Joel Embeef is already a household name. People might not know his name but people are talking about the "big guy" on NC State. DJ Burns vs Jack Gohlke is my LeBron vs Kobe, the NC State vs Oakland matchup might determine who will be a March Legend. Right now I see it as whoever wins this matchup will be this years March Legend, getting your double digit seed to the sweet 16 is major for March Legends and with Burns and Gohlke already going viral in round one they have a massive boost going into round two. If Langborg beats UConn and gets to the sweet 16 that's where the March Legend status gets the rare two legend status. Burns is a monster and one of the greatest builds the game of basketball has ever seen. The clash of titans in round two is must watch for March Legend status.
4. Jermaine Couisnard (Oregon):

Scoring 40 in the tournament is a lock to get into the rankings, what hurts Couisnard in being a March legend right now is that he's on a big name team. No one is surprised if Oregon does well in the tournament or has a good player because they have done it in the past. For Cuisnard to be the March Legend he has to continue to put up insane numbers and make a Final Four run. If he loses in the next two rounds he will be forgotten behind guys like Burns and Gohlke. Couisnard is a walking bucket right now and is the first player to score 40 on a double digit seed since Steph Curry. Basically Couisnard is the next Steph Curry is all I'm hearing.
5. Marcus Domask (Illinois):

Domask is rare on the March Legend rankings, he's on a highly ranked team and was relatively well known before the tournament. Domask and Couisnard are really a 4a and 4b for me, the reason Domask is lower is because he's on a 3 seeded team. Domask scores a triple double for Duquesne or Oakland and he is easily one or two. Domask only shot to be this years March Legend is to be Mr. March. He needs to win the tournament and be the star of his team in every game. Domask is getting weighed down by how good his team is but it will all be about if he can overcome it.
Honorable Mentions:
Ryan Kalkbrennar (Creighton)
Dae Dae Grant (Duquesne)
Tyon Grant-Foster (Grand Canyon)
