Dana Altman has had a great run with Oregon Basketball including a trip to the Final Four in 2017. Altman's Ducks 7 tournaments in his 14 year career with the Ducks.
Oregon has had another underwhelming season which should lead to there 3rd straight NIT appearance. Dana Altman and Oregon are falling behind in the recruiting game and on the court, Altman's offense is outdated and extremely lackluster. Something has changed since the Payton Pritchard years. They have some quality players but Altman isn't helping their game. Perfect example of Altman not getting the full use of a player is Kel'el Ware. Ware came into the program as a highly touted 5-Star recruit. With Oregon Ware averaged 6.6 ppg averaging 15.8 minutes a game. Ware transferred to Indiana and is having a great year putting up 15.1 ppg now averaging 31.1 minutes a game. Indiana uses Ware in their program perfectly and lets Ware be Ware.

Coaches at smaller school across the country are getting more out of their players than Altman is getting out of his 5-stars. Can you put the full blame on Altman, no. You might not be able to put all the blame on Dana but now multiple big time recruits have come into Oregon and have had lack luster play, the proof is in the product and Altman is hurting this team.
It will be hard for Oregon to fire Altman with the legacy he has for the program how much more does this program have to suffer for Altman to get fired.
If Oregon decides to part ways with Altman I would like to see them target these coaches:
Dusty May (FAU)
Brian Dutcher (San Diego State)
Mitch Henderson (Princeton)
Randy Bennett (Saint Mary's)
Richard Pitino (New Mexico)
